It can be overwhelming to know where to start in your makeup journey. With so many options, products and brands, it can be intimidating. I’ve been doing makeup for 3 years now and tried so many products but these are the ones that stick with time and that are easy to use when learning how to do your own makeup.
In general NYX is a really good and affordable brand. I use their eyebrow pen for a very natural look but you can also use it for heavier ones. NYX also has really good eyeliners and lip tint. However, for lips I always go for a tinted lip balm such as the black honey by Clinique (bigger budget) or a tinted Burt Bees (smaller budget) !
As for the eyeshadow palette, my all time favorite is the James Charles x Morphee one (it is currently sold out but usually sold on Morphee’s website). It has a lot of color variety that allows you to do a lot of different makeup looks and styles, from neutral to more editorial ! I also use the palette for the highlights et bronzer even though I would like to invest in cream products from either Maybelline or Milk. Cream products give a natural glow and are easier to use for an overall natural fresh look !
For the mascara the red burgundy Voluminous original from L’Oreal is the best one out there, in my opinion.
Dark enough to define your lashes, but not too dark to darken and make your makeup look sadder and grayish. Also when you cry it doesn’t look too bad after ahahaha. So definitely a go to during final season ! Pro tip: makeup is like painting, black can make your makeup look grey and not vibrant very easily. So it’s better to only use it when absolutely necessary. Even for smokey eyes sometimes a dark burgundy can make your eye color pop more than black ! (Whatever your eye color, but especially green eyes)
Whenever I need inspiration for my makeup looks, I look at @meicrosoft’s Instagram. I also am a big pinterest fan ! Some keywords for me are : “editorial” and “graphic liner”!
