Stylist Jared Ellner has recently emerged as a growing name in the fashion industry, gaining recognition as both a stylist and designer. I first encountered his name when striking images of Emma Chamberlain posing nude with a bag from his newly launched brand began circulating online. Intrigued, I scrolled through his Instagram, only to discover that Ellner is also the one to credit for Sabrina Carpenter’s iconic tour looks. Ellner’s styling is quite recognizable—elegant yet playful, with a love for sparkles and satin, materials that shimmer under flash photography and attract the eye. His vibrant colour palette balances out the experimental yet timeless glamour of his styling. But who exactly is Jared Ellner, and how did this young talent carve out a space for himself in such a competitive industry?

Let’s go back to when Ellner was a student at New York City’s Parsons School of Design—this is where it all began. After his freshman year, he interned at Vogue, which was his first introduction to styling. His first post-grad job was as an assistant to the Editor-in-Chief and Fashion Director at Garage Magazine. In this position, he met Emma Chamberlain, the YouTuber-turned-fashion icon, whom he then styled for the first time.

During the pandemic, Ellner moved to LA to live with his boyfriend, and that was when his career as a stylist truly took off. Emma Chamberlain’s team reached out to him about styling her, marking a pivotal moment in both of their careers. This was a turning point for Emma, as this was when she began to be taken more seriously by the fashion industry. As Ellner told Fashionista, “I’ve selfishly benefited from all of the years she’s spent building herself and her brand. When we met, she was ready to take things to the next level, and that was a dream because she was just as excited to push boundaries and expand as I was.” Since then, Ellner has dressed Emma for various events including multiple Met Galas. These were memorable moments in Emma’s fashion career that I admired, though never connected to him at the time.
Ellner has worked with celebrities such as Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello, and Phoebe Bridgers, among others. I particularly admire Ellner’s styling of Sabrina Carpenter; I believe his styling has played a significant role in elevating her career to the next level and helping her establish a distinct and unique identity within the industry.
Even those not very familiar with Carpenter’s music have been captivated by the internet buzz surrounding her Short n’ Sweet tour, thanks to the eye-catching outfits she’s been wearing on stage. She kicks off her first act of the show with Taste, a playful song directed at an ex’s new girl. True to the sassy and flirtatious vibes of the song, she always appears in a custom, bedazzled, Victoria’s Secret bodysuit. If you haven’t seen a video of this, it’s worth a watch—her styling captures the essence of her music perfectly.

Ellner has reached a milestone in his career with the launch of his own brand, Jared Ellner, which debuted on November 11th 2024. While his career skyrocketed as a stylist, his ultimate dream has always been designing. “I went to Parsons for fashion design, so the dream was always design,” he shared with Fashionita. “I honestly didn’t consider or think about being a stylist. I genuinely found myself here, and it’s made me grow so much, but I’ve always wanted to be a designer.” His brand currently features three styles of tops, two miniskirts, and a bag, all available in a variety of colors.
I’m always excited to learn about young talent breaking into the competitive fashion industry. Jared Ellner is clearly just getting started, and with the launch of his brand, I can’t wait to see the new and exciting creations he has in store!
